We were delighted to learn that Paul Kelly, who worked on some delicious and beautiful creations for Barry’s Bespoke Bakery is going to be one of the judges on The Great Irish Bake Off, coming to TV3 this autumn. Paul said “I can’t wait to see how the contestants deal with the tough challenges we’ve set, in our quest to find the best amateur Irish baker”. Though he’s a very nice and pleasant person to work with, our hearts go out to anybody in the competition trying to impress someone so accomplished!

We were figuring out how to make Barry’s Bespoke Bakery it became very clear to us that the aesthetic was going to be hugely important – the cakes were more than props, they were a manifestation of the characters’ passion. We knew we would need to find the best in the business to help us realise this fine artistry and attention to detail, and we found that in our food stylist Erica Ryan and our pastry chef Paul Kelly.

We are very honoured he gave his time and work so generously, and his world-class skill is evident in every frame that his work is on screen. We wish him the very best with this new venture and hope the show is a huge hit.
